Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

This policy explains what personal information JoshtheDesigner (“I”, “me”), run by Josh at joshthedesigner.com, collects, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: I collect only what I need to do the work and stay in touch, I don’t sell it, and you can ask me to delete it.

1. What I collect

  • When you buy a package: your name, business name, email address, billing country and postal code, and the store or site URL you enter at checkout. Card and bank details are entered directly with Stripe and never reach my site or me.
  • When you sign up for The Teardown: your email address and which page you signed up from.
  • When you send a project brief or email me: whatever you choose to include, such as your name, email, store URL and project details.
  • When you become a client: access to your platforms (for example Klaviyo, Shopify or WordPress), brand files and business numbers you share for the project.
  • When you visit the site: standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, recorded in my web host’s server logs.

2. How I use it

  • To deliver the package you bought, bill you and send receipts and invoices.
  • To reply to your questions and project briefs.
  • To send The Teardown and related emails, if you signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To keep the site secure and working.

3. Who I share it with

I use a small number of service providers to run the business. They process data on my behalf and only for these purposes:

  • Stripe, for payments, invoices, receipts and subscription billing.
  • Klaviyo, for email signups and email delivery.
  • Bluehost, which hosts this website.
  • Font and file delivery networks (such as jsDelivr), which serve the site’s typefaces and receive your IP address when they do.
  • My email provider, for messages you send me.

I don’t sell or rent your personal information, and I don’t share it for advertising. I may disclose information if the law requires it.

4. Cookies and local storage

This site doesn’t run advertising trackers. WordPress may set cookies needed for the site to work, and Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout pages to process payments and prevent fraud. The client welcome page saves your checklist ticks in your browser’s local storage so they’re there if you come back; that information stays on your device. If I add analytics in future, I’ll update this page.

5. How long I keep it

Billing and invoice records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Project files and platform access are kept for the length of the work; I remove my own platform access when a project or plan ends. Email signups stay until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask me to tell you what personal information I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email. Email josh@joshthedesigner.com and I’ll respond within 30 days. Some records, like invoices, may need to be kept for legal reasons even after a deletion request. Depending on where you live, including California, you may have additional rights under local law; I’ll honor them.

7. Security

Payments are handled by Stripe, so card and bank details never touch my systems. I use strong passwords and two-factor authentication on the accounts that hold client data. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect what you share.

8. Children

My services are for businesses. This site isn’t directed at children under 16, and I don’t knowingly collect their information.

9. Changes and contact

If I change this policy, I’ll update the date at the top of this page. Questions: josh@joshthedesigner.com.
